# Assistance between adult children and parents

This article considers family dependence in both directions: housing and money, time, shopping and care. It distinguishes particular need from authority over a person, gratitude from a new task, and promised replacement from help actually available.

It may help an adult child, parent or relative involved in distributing assistance.

- What help actually flows each way?
- What was accepted and what added without another answer?
- Where does a task become control of a life?
- Whose limits and needs remain unseen?
- What needs provision when assistance changes?

This is general reflection, not diagnosis, treatment or legal procedure. Threats require no test through a conspicuous refusal or missed necessary care. The exercise can be skipped.
