When reading, conversation, and ordinary tasks become harder, proving lost ability and selecting a diagnosis are not prerequisites. Begin with one present task, request understandable information, and keep participation bounded. This article does not explain every instance through war, insufficient sleep, or PTSD. An appropriate format replaces no medical assessment; one successful task establishes no readiness to drive or perform dangerous work. Sudden confusion and concerning changes after head injury require medical attention. Choose one section or stop without reporting, self-testing, or recounting experience. Assistance need not be earned through former productivity. An incomplete explanation does not cancel present need, and one success need not close further questions.
