# If helping someone has taken over almost your whole life

Love and exhaustion can coexist, as can wanting closeness and needing your own time. This article considers actual work after war, injury, or separation. Support does not require becoming a home therapist, constantly hearing details, or handing over your entire life.

Distinguish requested assistance, a manageable role, and necessary tasks requiring real continuation. A break does not appear merely because a service contact was found: someone must actually accept the care. A child should not become the reserve helper.

Your health and interests matter independently. Threats or immediate danger need appropriate protection and available help locally; reading should not delay it. You do not have to resolve everything at once.
