# Courage should not buy dignity

Remembering the dead and loving relatives need not be proved through danger. Fear does not make a teenager unworthy, and praise appoints no permanent hero. This article distinguishes memory, justice questions, group pressure, and actual risk. There is no duty to forgive, become a symbol, or rescue adult hope. Nor is there a universally safe refusal, group exit, route, or covert action: particular protection requires competent participation. Suitable urgent assistance is needed for actual threats, unsafe behavior, or a personal wish to harm. A teenager need not manage alone until an explanation is perfect. Ordinary life and a personal future matter without another ordeal or compulsory heroic growth story.
