# Not helping everyone cannot condemn the whole person

Clinicians may face needs exceeding available time and possibilities. This article distinguishes actions, roles, knowledge then, hindsight, and moral distress. There is no triage, occupational diagnosis, or guilt verdict. Support need not justify everything; responsibility need not destroy personhood. Praise for resilience does not provide an actual handover. Serious acute deterioration needs suitable urgent help; suicidal thoughts or life-threatening situations need immediate professional help without full case accounts. Patients' histories are not public material. Confidentiality and career preservation cannot be guaranteed here. Clinicians retain personal health and relationships without having to justify their future through heroism, forgiveness, and a meaning assigned to war. Appropriate support and serious review can remain necessary together.
