# When stopping feels harder than continuing

After war, work can provide income, meaning, and familiar people. Sometimes it also leaves less room for painful thoughts. These aspects may coexist. Extensive occupation or enjoying intensity does not itself establish a diagnosis.

Begin concretely: what is compulsory, what is chosen, and where is ending difficult even when possible? Check task safety separately. Surviving war does not replace preparation; understanding yourself requires no new dangerous trial.

A pause need not bring immediate peace. Discuss the difficulty with a professional and clarify handover, domestic assistance, or one limit on involvement. Relatives can keep their limits too. Immediate danger to life requires available local urgent assistance; ordinary discussion can begin without a complete explanation or decision to abandon everything valued.
