# When study was interrupted and the path is unclear

After war, adults may need to resume a programme, update a skill or learn something different. Interruption determines neither ability nor dignity. One score or reading speed establishes no complete recovery, and lost paperwork does not automatically erase retained knowledge.

One purpose and actual questions can be a starting point: who receives the request, what is required and what outcome does the programme provide? Learning, formal recognition, admission and professional authorisation differ. An international example of assessing earlier learning guarantees no decision for every person and country.

Immediate danger, serious deterioration or inability to maintain safety calls for appropriate available local urgent help without waiting for an examination. Practical, educational and medical support have different purposes; lesson outcomes do not determine human worth.
