# When you want contact but your former circle has changed

After war, you may miss friends while feeling unready to talk, meet or trust immediately. Distance, different experiences, language and limited time can change relationships. This experience alone establishes neither a diagnosis nor your capacity for friendship.

Perhaps a short conversation, an ordinary shared subject or practical participation is wanted now. One person need not understand everything. An old connection's availability can be explored without promising former closeness. A missing reply leaves something unknown; it is no final judgment of your worth.

A new circle need not be earned through continuous usefulness, identical convictions or a complete war story. Groups and shared language guarantee neither privacy nor safety. Do not test trust through danger or your most sensitive disclosure. An actual threat requires separate attention to safety.

When difficulties interfere with everyday life, suitable professional and practical help need not await an ideal circle of friends. Immediate danger, serious deterioration or inability to maintain safety requires appropriate available local urgent help without waiting for a friend's reply.
