# When relationships need not return to their former shape

After war, you may want conversation while remaining unsure about former closeness. A proposed meeting is not yet shared consent. One person's insistence cannot create two people's free wishes.

The particular task may be clarified: what is proposed, why, who participates and what remains unagreed? A practical exchange need not become friendship. An apology is not completed repair; one promise proves no reliability everywhere.

Disagreement is not always violence. Threats and coercion nevertheless need separate safety attention without automatically dividing blame equally. No dangerous meeting to test trust is proposed here. Distance may involve housing, care, money and documents; one instruction to end everything may be insufficient.

Present assistance can be sought without promised reconciliation. Difficulties substantially affecting life may warrant suitable professional assessment without trying every self-directed approach. Immediate danger, serious deterioration or inability to maintain safety requires appropriate available local urgent help without waiting for a meeting or another's agreement.
