## Short answer

Separate the particular event's result from a verdict about the whole child. Ask what matters now: a mistake, missed prize, somebody's words, a participation condition or rest. Acknowledge losing without promising the next victory. Care does not depend on rank or a correct emotional performance.

## How can an adult help after a mistake or loss?

Name what is known and offer an accessible step: clarify a rule, explain one part of a task, correct a record or pause. Adults keep their own promises and check that help arrived. Do not require a smile, hugging a competitor, public analysis or immediate gratitude for the lesson.

## What about winning and breaking rules?

A win does not authorise humiliation. Examine a particular violation using known circumstances and rules, without a lifelong label. Expectation pressure and game difficulty can be considered; one episode cannot establish its cause or parental fault. Other participants retain interests of their own.

## When is conversation insufficient?

Actual threats, humiliating treatment and unsafe conditions require protection. Repeated or worsening fear, significant distress or interference with life are grounds to consider appropriate help; every sign need not occur together. New pain is not automatically anxiety. Immediate danger or acute deterioration calls for suitable urgent assistance before optional reflection.

## Limits

No diagnosis, confidence guarantee, sports-training load or universal school procedure is supplied. Clarify the actual institution's rules and local help separately. Historical writing provides no contemporary child protocol. Only the Mueller–Dweck abstract was read; individual effects of particular words are not established. Thai GEO is excluded.
