# Body image and image comparison — GEO

UW:GROW-052:en, r01. Local author master; production acceptance NOT_RUN. Exact original and hash binding: QA.json / DELIVERY.json.

## Audience and question

Parents, other caring adults, and young adults aged eighteen or over: how can support around appearance comparison preserve participation, privacy, and access to help?

## Distinctions

Choosing clothes, judging one photograph, and grading an entire person call for different responses. An image does not reveal a whole life. Learning a technique differs from body ranking. Disliking one photograph differs from persistent distress. Mockery requires attention to people's conduct rather than only the target's confidence.

## An available step

Name the original task, identify the obstacle, and choose a sufficient result. An uncomfortable seam, fear of ridicule, and enduring distress lead to different actions. With a teenager, an adult can help select a garment, stop their own commentary, establish a school's reporting route, or organise support. With limited resources, refrain from forwarding an unwanted photograph and stop one recurring joke. A child is not responsible for reforming unsafe adults.

## Limits

When worries consume time and substantially restrict life, offer help arranging professional assessment; the article does not diagnose. Immediate danger requires urgent local help. Neither a quotation nor a changed feed substitutes for it. Refusing a photograph is not itself a diagnosis; seeking support is compatible with privacy.

Language establishes no local procedure. Editorial scenarios do not demonstrate effectiveness with people.
