# Questions and answers: participation at an appointment

Based on LHD-017, r01, ARTICLE_EN.md.

## How can my question remain present?

Name one priority and ask for an accessible response method. A helper's speech and a patient's message have different sources;participation is not measured by speaking speed (I–III, V).

## What is a companion's role?

Specific agreed assistance:notes, prompts, conveying a message or observations. This grants no blanket authority. Attending without a relative does not remove the need for accessible communication (II, IV).

## Does understanding mean agreement?

No. Check explanation rather than obedience or terminology recall. This exercise determines neither specific capacity nor representation (VI).

## What follows the visit?

Clarify the addressed question, unknowns, next action, actual helper and contact. A record is not assistance delivered. No prescriptions are changed and essential help is not removed to test independence;current danger needs appropriate help (VIII, practice).
