## Subject and reader

An adult whose emotions quickly become unbearable. The article separates an event, interpretation, feeling, urge, action and consequence to support a more precise account of difficulties and available help. GEO is subordinate to the exact human master and is not a treatment protocol.

## Main distinctions

1. An event and its interpretation are not identical. A postponed meeting does not automatically establish abandonment.
2. A feeling, an urge and an action differ. This distinction does not promise an easily available pause or unlimited self-control.
3. Emotional intensity does not measure dangerous behaviour. Quiet speech does not exclude threats; tears do not establish violence.
4. Recognising a feeling is neither agreement with an accusation nor justification of harm. Responsibility concerns actual conduct and consequences.
5. Circumstances and recurrence matter alongside inner experience. Actual housing threats or abuse are not resolved by advice to reinterpret events.
6. Recognising one feature does not diagnose BPD; a rapidly changing feeling is not itself mania/hypomania.
7. Understanding, using a skill, clinical change and returning to a valued activity are different outcomes. Less visible conflict may reflect fear rather than wellbeing.

## Application with limited resources

When there is no urgent danger, a recent incident that is not too distressing may be considered: what is known, what was inferred, what was felt and wanted, what was done and what consequence needs attention. Unknowns remain unknown; writing is optional. A truthful sentence about effects on safety or ordinary functioning can begin a request for assessment. A telephone, family support, complete diary or ready diagnosis is not required to recognise need. Actual service access still requires separate checking.

Ordinary hypothetical case: after a cancelled meeting, someone clarifies plans without demanding immediate proof of love. Counterexample: when a partner actually threatens someone, the communication example should not become an instruction to rehearse with that partner, disclose a location or resume contact. Independent safety takes priority over the scenario.

## Evidence and traditions

NIMH supplies official assessment context. The read APA 2024 issuer summary supports collaboration and structured care for BPD, rather than prescribing it for every intense feeling. Linehan et al.'s 2015 primary component trial studied 99 high-risk women receiving organised support. It does not establish equal benefit from an independent exercise or one universally superior approach.

Seneca II.3–4 separates initial movement from assent; Aristotle II.5–6 distinguishes feelings from character. Their views on passions differ. Dhammapada 3–5, 223 discusses ending hostility within a religious path; the Analects XV.XXIII in Legge discusses reciprocity. The comparisons are bounded editorial arguments, not treatment evidence, one common doctrine or an obligation to forgive abuse.

## Limits and navigation

No self-diagnosis, prescribing or withdrawal instructions, recovered-memory practice or guaranteed calm. Immediate danger to oneself or another calls for available local urgent assistance without waiting for reading or notes. MHR-I02 and MHR-I06 are adjacent subjects; MHR-L01…L07 are internal crisis-corpus labels, rather than published services or verified URLs. Language does not establish a country or legal regime.
