Regret after a choice: what it says and what remains unknown

Regret can name value and loss, but establishes neither an entire unlived alternative nor earlier foundations of choice. A known outcome, information available then and present action are considered separately. Responsibility and consent remain; disappearance of the feeling is not promised.

Questions explored

Does the feeling prove a wrong choice?

Assessment needs particular information, options available then and foundations; the feeling alone establishes none of these.

Is new contact necessary?

It is possible concerning an appropriate voluntary subject; refusal cannot be circumvented for inward completion.

Must every loss yield a lesson?

A particular loss can be acknowledged without a compulsory rule or promised disappearance of the feeling.
