Personal Notes and the Right Not to Share Everything

Distinguish a personal draft from a request’s task. Select sufficient honest material and conditions while preserving privacy, actual obligations and needed help. Complete disclosure is no automatic requirement of trust.

Questions explored

Must the entire journal be shown?

Not automatically: scope fits the task and recipient role.

Does trust mean complete access?

No: boundaries and needed context can be discussed separately.

Does deletion guarantee every copy disappears?

No: actual system behaviour and transfer require separate verification.

Does privacy cancel a group promise?

No: an actual obligation is addressed without automatic access to private text.

Does needed help wait for a perfect text?

No: safety and corresponding work take priority.

Key distinctions

Mill compares personal concerns and obligations, rather than providing current legal advice. (Selected source within recorded scope, with editorial boundary)

Professional work has its conditions and needed material; necessary help does not await a perfect account. (Editorial distinction)

A note’s private purpose proves neither actual access nor elimination of copies after deletion. (Editorial distinction)

A small fragment is voluntary, retains essential facts and replaces no professional route. (Editorial distinction)

Matthew’s image concerns prayer; a limited comparison requires neither isolation nor refusing help. (Selected source within recorded scope, with editorial boundary)
