A selected reversible model does not confirm preparation of every reversed process. Variables, initial conditions, and permitted operations need naming. In a separate UW analogy, partial correction neither deletes an event nor becomes useless because complete return is unavailable.
Questions explored
Are all physical laws asserted to be reversible?
No. Lebowitz's selected dynamical domain is retained, and the original mathematical illustration has stated conditions.
Must every part's entropy always increase?
No such extension is made. The discussed formulation requires comparable states, a permitted transformation, and a combined accounting boundary.
Does unavailable complete return make correction useless?
In the original example, usefulness depends on a specific outcome and conditions. That belongs to participants' judgment rather than an entropy prescription.
Key distinctions
Lebowitz considers velocity reversal in selected dynamics while distinguishing microstate from macroscopic description. (Lebowitz, 1993, pp. 33–35; relativity and weak-interaction violations of time invariance are explicitly bracketed.)
Lieb and Yngvason's entropy principle concerns defined adiabatic accessibility and comparable equilibrium states. (Lieb / Yngvason, 1998, pp. 4–8; the p. 6 key clause retains adiabatic.)
Entropy definitions and compound-description boundaries require a specified subject before conclusions about part or whole. (Lebowitz, pp. 34–35 and 36–37; Lieb / Yngvason, pp. 1–4 and 6–7.)
An original mathematical illustration separates restored coordinate and velocity; a separate UW example separates editing, notification, and participant consent. (This article's contemporary examples; the life analogy is not a physical deduction.)
Limits of interpretation
- Separate selected trajectory reversal, microstate preparation, macroscopic description, accessibility, and record correction. Entropy needs system and conditions defined. No full proof/formula/figure verification, universal reversible laws, mental entropy, quantum freedom, or physically deduced fatalism. Consent and consequences in the original UW example need their own grounds.
