Family sleep and adult depletion: when care needs an actual handover
UW:GROW-019:en · r01 · local GEO; original hash bound in QA/DELIVERY. Server acceptance NOT_RUN.
For parents and adult carers aged18+, including lone parents and families with limited support. I separates adult headcount from responsibility transferred; II infant rhythm from a family examination; III–IV rest conditions and different workloads; V absent time from inability to sleep with time available; VI silence from safety; VII assumed help from real resources; VIII a nearby result from a promise to endure everything.
Practice: select the nearest available period without a universal duration, one rest condition, and a whole task with a real adult accepting it. Clarify knowledge and when contact is needed. Without replacement, removing an optional job or asking about one service may be the step. A spoken sentence can suffice; burdensome writing can stop.
There is no infant sleep programme, independent feeding/treatment change, or promised uninterrupted night. A concerning adult state, especially inability to sleep despite opportunity or difficulty coping, needs professional discussion rather than home diagnosis. Imminent danger needs local emergency help. Infant sleep uses the back position, firm flat separate surface, and no dangerous soft objects; do not fall asleep together on sofas or armchairs. Never shake; a brief pause with return replaces no help where harm is threatened. Children are no night rescuers.
