Entering freely does not establish an accessible exit

Guide contents

Voluntary entry, present conditions and actual exit are different questions. Both circumstances and resources can change; a formal route does not itself arrange a transition. Parting costs, shortage and threats differ. Duration proves neither complete agreement nor coercion. One stage can be clarified without obligatory immediate departure; intention, agreement and an absent resource remain different states.

Questions explored

Must involuntary entry be proved before an obstacle is heard?

No: a wanted beginning and serious current question can coexist. Each moment needs evidence; an accessible exit now does not retrospectively explain entry.

Does a long stay establish everything suits someone?

Months alone select no motive. One part can be valued while another condition is rejected; neither agreement nor lack of freedom is proved automatically.

Does an exit rule mean a transition is arranged?

No: process and practical access differ. Housing, income and others’ consent are not confirmed by a preliminary proposal alone.

Does information oblige immediate departure?

No: someone may want only information now. One clarification obliges no completed exit and is not reported as life already changed.

Key distinctions

A wanted beginning and previous benefit can remain meaningful alongside a present question.

  • The case is fictional, not an actual centre, employer or violation.

External changes in scheduling, income and transport can affect an earlier decision’s feasibility.

  • Neither a violation nor an author of every constraint is established automatically.

An initial answer has a subject, terms and period rather than funding all future demands.

  • A changed wish removes neither all consequences nor an actual contract’s conditions.

A written exit arrangement and an arranged transition differ.

  • Not every exit is asserted obstructed; an essential unknown stage may remain.

Question, notice, ended participation, payment and changed connected conditions can be different states.

  • An author’s distinction, not a procedure prescribed for every relationship.

The ILO page separately considers workers’ documents and actual access to them.

  • Employment context establishes no fictional-project violation; a single sign supplies no complete classification or bypass authority.

Ordinary parting costs, missing resources and threats to unrelated interests require different descriptions.

  • An actual case requires facts rather than a moral toughness assessment.

The selected ILO explanation considers leaving alongside consent and relevant reasonable notice.

  • No local notice/compensation, consequence-free immediate exit or forced-labour diagnosis of every group is established.

Months of participation alone select neither consent, interest, dependence nor another possible explanation.

  • The list gives no actual person’s proven motives or automatic lack of freedom.

Silence is neither fully readable as approval nor authority to assign a wish to leave.

  • Receiving information obliges neither following the helper’s route nor disclosing the past.

Help with a question supplies no entire resource set; another route has its own unconfirmed stages.

  • No actual financial/legal offer is assessed and no safety of all conditions guaranteed.

Mill’s argument, an ancient Exodus rule and current employment guidance have distinct subjects.

  • Slavery regulation is not endorsed; the references create no common law, housing or arranged departure.

Limits of interpretation

  • Immediate danger needs urgent local assistance; a threat should not be tested by leaving.
  • No universal exit plan for violence, work or community, or duty to gain evidence through danger, is supplied.
  • Safe publicity and complete secrecy are not promised; a helper gains no authority to publish or represent everything.
