Question
How can someone live with a present appearance and choose participation without loving the body as a prerequisite? For adults after illness, treatment and other changes, with an explicit place for a visible difference present from birth. War and ageing contexts are not automatically transferred.
Distinctions
Visible change, bodily sensation, recognition and other people's responses need different answers. A small mark can be bothersome; a conspicuous difference does not establish hidden suffering. A medical question does not wait for the right attitude to a reflection. NHS information provides a limited distinction between ordinary contact and urgent signs, without prescribing products, massage or procedures.
Montaigne describes a changing self-portrait rather than easy acceptance of every change. James criticises assigning a place by outward signs; this is a religious example, not a medical or legal standard. The comparison preserves an external question: actual exclusion is not resolved by attitude alone.
A visible mark does not open an entire history. Someone may choose how much to explain, decline discussion and agree a companion's help. Changing Faces guidance is not turned into a compulsory smile, posture or gaze. A boundary does not depend on confident performance or guarantee another person's reaction.
Application and limits
Choose one task, distinguish visibility/sensation/reaction, make one request and check the actual condition. Sending a request and an accepted result differ. Lack of money, a helper or a service is not represented as insufficient self-acceptance.
Showing, covering, changing and photographing are separate decisions. Clinical, personal and public photographs require distinct consent. Ending future publication does not guarantee deletion of existing copies. Care does not buy access to a body; this article does not establish an intimate activity's medical safety.
Professional support can be sought without proving complete acceptance. No mirror exercise or adaptation deadline is prescribed. Actual reader testing, clinical and native-language review NOT_RUN.
